Global Futures Sports & Entertainment Ltd., on behalf of a group of investors, identified US Citta di Palermo as an exceptional football club for acquisition.
Our visit to Palermo this week was undertaken solely to look closely at the infrastructure of the club and talk to key members. David Platt, accompanied us as an advisor to our team. Due to the interest caused by the public disclosure, we participated in a Press Conference that has led to confusion. Firstly, on behalf of the investors, we would like to assure the fans that the sentiments in the banner unfurled at the stadium relating to respect and sincerity are key values that will be implemented. Bringing the club together as a whole is fundamental to the investors and future success.
Secondly, Mr Zamparini will not be involved in the running of the club in any capacity as it moves forward and other members of staff making any comments regarding the club should be disregarded as they will be doing so without knowledge or our express permission.
We will continue our assessment of the clubs and its infrastructure over the coming weeks, with a view to advising on key appointments to the administration team. As with our visit this week we will have many individuals working on this phase in Palermo. The work we had assigned to Mr David Platt has now been completed and David will not be involved in the next phase, we wish to thank David for his contribution. Once our due diligence has been completed we will be in a position to address all relevant parties to the transaction, locally within the municipality of Palermo and also Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio.
Further to this we wish to ensure that the excellent work being carried out by Coach Roberto Stellone, his team and the playing staff is supported in the best way possible to achieve the club’s objectives for the city of Palermo and its fantastic supporters.
